Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Fazm ("we", "our", "us") is a macOS desktop application that acts as your AI computer agent. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data.

Fazm is offered in two tiers, and which tier you are on affects what data leaves your device:

  • Free tier (with ads): Fazm is free to use after the trial. Conversations may display contextual sponsored content next to assistant responses. To select a relevant ad, a redacted summary of the current question and answer is sent to our advertising partner (Koah Labs). See section 5 for what is sent and what is stripped first.
  • Paid subscription (ad-free): Paying subscribers see zero ads. No conversation context is ever transmitted to advertising partners. The ad slot and the related network call are disabled at the source.

2. Data We Collect

Screen analysis: Fazm analyzes your screen locally on your device. Only the extracted intent or query is sent to AI models for processing — raw screenshots are not transmitted.

Google Workspace data: If you connect your Google account, Fazm accesses Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive on your behalf to execute tasks you request. This data is processed in real-time and is not stored on our servers beyond what is needed to complete the requested action.

Analytics: We collect anonymous usage analytics (via PostHog) to improve the product. This includes app events, feature usage, and crash reports. No personally identifiable information is included in analytics unless you opt in.

Account information: If you create an account, we store your email address and authentication tokens securely.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and improve the Fazm application
  • To execute tasks you request (email, calendar, file management)
  • To diagnose and fix bugs and crashes
  • To communicate important product updates

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

  • AI model providers (Anthropic, Google) to process your queries — only the query text is sent, not raw screen data
  • Analytics providers (PostHog) for anonymous usage data
  • Error tracking services (Sentry) for crash reports
  • Advertising partner (Koah Labs) for free-tier users only, to select contextual sponsored content. See section 5 for the exact data flow.

5. Advertising and Free Tier

Free-tier users see contextual sponsored content rendered next to assistant responses. Paid subscribers never see ads and the data flow described below never runs for them.

What is sent: When the ad slot is shown, a redacted summary of the current question and the assistant's answer is sent to Koah Labs (our ad partner) so they can pick a relevant sponsored card. We do not send your screen, your file contents, your microphone audio, or your conversation history beyond the current turn.

What we strip before sending: Email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, API keys and other long token-shaped strings, UUIDs, and unusually long opaque blobs are masked client-side before any data leaves your device. The redacted text is also length-capped.

What Koah does with it: Koah uses the redacted context to pick an ad in real time and may use aggregated, de-identified data to improve their own services per their publisher agreement. We do not transmit your name, email, account ID, or any other identifier alongside the request.

How to opt out: Subscribing to Fazm's paid tier disables the ad slot entirely. Free-tier users can also disable ads from in-app Settings (when available) or by canceling all sharing of conversation context, which will turn off the ad slot for the device.

6. Google API Services

Fazm's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS), secure token storage in macOS Keychain, and access controls on our infrastructure.

8. Your Rights

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. You can revoke Google Workspace access through your Google Account permissions.
